The history of stainless steel precision casting can be traced back to the 1930s and 40s
The history of stainless steel precision casting can be traced back to the 1930s and 1940s, a technology initially widely adopted in the United States. At that time, the United States held a leading position in aviation engine technology. To improve the performance of aviation engines, they began to experiment with stainless steel precision casting for producing turbine blades. This advanced casting method significantly improved the strength, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance of turbine blades, greatly enhancing the efficiency and reliability of aviation engines. Upon its release, the finished product received unanimous praise from the aviation, military, and industrial sectors, which further promoted the widespread adoption and application of stainless steel precision casting. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, China also began to focus on the research and development and application of stainless steel precision casting technology. With the continuous development of China's national defense industry, the demand for high-quality and high-precision mechanical parts has increased, making stainless steel precision casting technology an important means of meeting this demand. Liaoning, Guizhou, Beijing, Shaanxi, Hunan, and other places have successively established stainless steel precision casting research institutes or foundries, dedicated to the research and application of this technology. These research institutes and foundries have not only promoted the advancement of China's stainless steel precision casting technology but have also provided a large number of high-quality parts for China's national defense industry and other fields. However, although China has made certain achievements in stainless steel precision casting, objectively speaking, China's stainless steel precision casting industry is still in the development stage. Compared with developed countries, China still has a certain gap in terms of technology level and production equipment. Therefore, it cannot fully meet the needs of China's aerospace, national defense, and other industries for high-precision and high-quality parts. To change this situation, we need to continue to increase R&D investment, introduce advanced production equipment and technologies, cultivate more professional personnel, and promote the continuous progress and development of China's stainless steel precision casting technology.
