While ensuring the quality of precision castings, modifying the gating system and using heat-insulating risers can generally improve the yield. If the yield can be increased from 60% to 70%, energy consumption can be reduced by 14.3%.
2. Use high-density molding machines and modern core-making technology to minimize casting weight and reduce machining allowance. Practice has proven that high-pressure molding can reduce the weight of castings by 3%-5% compared to manual molding and general machine molding, and the machining allowance can also be kept at 2-3mm. Weight reduction not only saves energy in the precision casting workshop but also reduces energy consumption in subsequent processing.
3. Dongguan precision castings should adopt energy-saving processes and arrange production rationally. For example: using self-hardening resin sand or surface dry type instead of clay sand drying type to save energy consumption in drying molds; strictly controlling the proportioning, confirming the appropriate composition of precision castings, and adopting effective inoculation schemes to eliminate white spots or hard spots on castings in the as-cast state to eliminate graphitization annealing; promoting as-cast ductile iron, requiring those with an elongation rate below 12% to be obtained in the as-cast state; using frequency wave harmonic oscillation aging process as much as possible, eliminating stress relief heat treatment. 4. Save materials and strive for reuse. Because the production of any material requires energy consumption.
5. Large-scale production of investment casting steel enterprises, that is, the output of each casting unit is over 5000t. Because the enterprise output is large, the working time of the furnace is long, and the heating energy consumption of the furnace itself can be greatly reduced when spread over the energy consumption per ton of precision castings.
6. Improve management level and reduce defect rate. For example, in a precision casting plant with an annual output of 5000t, a 1% reduction in the defect rate is equivalent to producing an additional 50t of precision castings. Calculated at 400kgee of energy consumption per ton, 20t of standard coal can be saved per year, which means that the energy consumption per ton of precision castings is reduced by 4kgee.
